Assassin's Creed Celebrates 20th Anniversary With New $2,999 Release

As the 20th anniversary of Assassin's Creed draws closer, a costly new collectible has been unveiled in honor of the occasion. It pays tribute to the latest major release of the franchise, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

PureArts has unveiled that the latest addition to their Prestige Line is a premium 1/2 scale statue of Edward Kenway as seen in the Black Flag remake. Standing 43 inches tall, it is priced at $2,999, and can currently be pre-ordered on the official website. It is estimated to be delivered in Q2 2027, coinciding with next year serving as the 20th anniversary of the franchise's debut. A total of 500 units will be made, each one coming with a numbered COA and an individually numbered bottom plate.

Edward Kenway Gets a Hyper-Realistic Statue

The Edward Kenway statue has hyper-realistic details, brought to life with silicone skin, glass eyes, and individually punched hair. His outfit has been recreated with fabric, leather, and metal materials. He stands on a sculpted base inspired by the Jackdaw, bearing the Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced crest. Of course, Edward also comes with a cutlass and flintlock pistol accessories.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced was a tremendous success upon its release in July. It sold two million copies in its first day alone, with a reported 3.5+ million sold overall after just two weeks. In 24 hours, it reached nearly 100K concurrent players on Steam, marking the highest peak ever for any Assassin's Creed title. The reviews for the remade version of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag were also very strong, putting it among the most praised installments of the franchise.

Assassin's Creed Turns 20 Years Old in 2027

The franchise spawned with the release of the first Assassin's Creed game in 2007. It told the story of a skilled Assassin on a quest for redemption by eliminating nine Templar targets during the Crusades. Subsequent releases in the franchise have focused on other protagonists in various time periods. Black Flag's Edward Kenway sailed the seas in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy in the early 1700s.

Moving forward, there are other exciting releases coming up as the franchise turns 20 years old. There are more video games in the works, while Assassin's Creed is also heading to the small screen for a new adaptation. Netflix is developing a live-action series based on the video games, and it will tell an original story with new characters in Ancient Rome. It is the first live-action series produced as a part of Netflix's partnership with Ubisoft.
