Become A Worldbuilder In Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale On Nintendo Switch 2

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.

From developer Metronomik, this charming rhythm and puzzle action-adventure invites you to set out on a magical journey that takes inspiration from the vibrant cultures of Southeast Asia.

The game combines action-packed gameplay with exploration and clever puzzles incorporating the region’s rich heritage in music, cuisine and other cultural elements – with the traditional sweet snack, ondeh ondeh, included in its title.

You play as Kaya and will embark on a heartwarming, coming-of-age journey centred on family, courage, and self-discovery to become a Worldbuilder, just like her parents. To be certified, one must first pass a test: gather all the Giants across the world and perform the Renewal Ritual to rejuvenate the flavours of the world.

“Music lies at the heart of Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale, seamlessly blending rhythm-based gameplay with exploration, puzzle solving, and combat,” the publisher explains in a press release. “Players must follow the tempo to navigate the world, unlock new paths, and empower Kaya’s abilities, creating a journey where every beat shapes the adventure.”

Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in 2027.
